WHAT IT DOES

See the vector source and the picture it describes.

Paste or drop SVG markup to inspect its dimensions and structure, then format or minify it in place, preview it, or download it locally. External and executable constructs are rejected before the source reaches the browser's inert image preview.

Why use it?

Use it to inspect and tidy SVG source while seeing the artwork it describes, particularly when dimensions or the viewBox are causing layout surprises.

How to use this tool

  1. Paste SVG markup or load a local SVG and review the preview and reported dimensions.
  2. Format for readable source or minify for compact source. Check text and artwork after the rewrite before downloading.
  3. If external or executable content is refused, make the artwork self-contained rather than expecting the preview to fetch dependencies. For a bitmap export, use SVG Converter instead.

Details and limitations

  • The viewer reports the root dimensions, viewBox, element counts, path count, groups, and text nodes before any rewrite is applied.
  • Format keeps the SVG readable with one element per indented line; Minify removes comments and inter-tag whitespace while preserving text content.
  • Scripts, event-handler attributes, javascript URLs, external resources, external stylesheets, foreignObject, and entity declarations are refused for the preview and download actions.
  • The preview is decoded by an inert image element from a temporary local object URL. No SVG bytes are uploaded, fetched, or placed in the page URL.

COMMON QUESTIONS

SVG Viewer questions

Can I preview an SVG without uploading it?
Yes. The source is read and analyzed in your browser, and the preview is decoded by an inert image element from a temporary local object URL. The server receives only the page request, never the SVG content.
Why was my SVG rejected?
The local preview refuses active or external constructs such as scripts, event handlers, javascript links, external stylesheets, entity declarations, and foreignObject because they are not needed for a safe source viewer.
