WHAT IT DOES
Format Reddit text without losing its limit.
Write for Reddit's desktop Markdown editor with broadly old-compatible helpers, or switch to Discord. Check a local approximation before copying the text into the selected editor. The preview helps catch formatting surprises without claiming to reproduce every client exactly.
Why use it?
Use it to draft source markup for a particular social editor and catch likely formatting issues before pasting it into that platform.
How to use this tool
- Select Reddit Markdown or Discord before applying helpers, because spoiler and other syntax differs.
- Write or select text, use the relevant formatting buttons, and preview. For Reddit, leave separation around lists and dividers; use the indented code helper for broad old-Reddit compatibility.
- Copy the source into the matching editor. On Reddit use Markdown mode, not the rich-text editor, and review the destination's own preview before posting.
- Treat the local rendering and character counter as aids, not an exact simulation of every client or account limit.
Details and limitations
- The counter includes the text you would paste, including Markdown-style markup for Reddit and Discord.
- Reddit text posts are commonly limited to 40,000 characters and Discord messages to 2,000 characters. Platform rules can vary by account, post type, or subscription.
- Reddit helpers add headings, lists, links, dividers, and hard line breaks; the divider inserts blank lines so it is not mistaken for a heading underline.
- Reddit's rich-text editor does not turn pasted Markdown into formatting; switch to its desktop Markdown editor before pasting. The Code block helper uses indentation for old Reddit compatibility.
- Nothing is sent to a social platform. The preview is rendered and sanitized locally, and Copy puts the source markup or text on the clipboard.
