Who maintains tool4.dev
tool4.dev is maintained by Pedro Salabert. For support, privacy questions, or reproducible bug reports, email [email protected]. The contact page explains what to include without sharing private input.
Why this exists
Small development tasks should not require an account, a cloud workspace, or a large application. tool4.dev puts those tasks behind stable URLs so a useful tool is always one bookmark away.
Local-first is a boundary
If a browser can do the work correctly, the browser does it. Pasted documents, credentials, images, PDFs, and generated output remain in the tab unless a tool page explicitly says otherwise.
Transparent results
A calculator should show its method, a converter should identify what it could not reproduce, and a parser should report uncertainty instead of hiding it. Tool pages include usage guidance, limitations, and privacy details alongside the result.
Small on purpose
The site uses Go, server-rendered HTML, plain CSS, vanilla TypeScript, and SQLite for anonymous aggregate counters. There are no accounts, profiles, cloud workspaces, or paste histories.
Advertising without rearranging the product
Advertising space is reserved outside the tools, but this build does not load live ads or advertising trackers. Google AdSense is the planned provider; approval and integration are separate from reserving a layout. The tool remains the product: ads must not sit inside a workspace, interrupt its controls, cover content, or make a tool give up width. The privacy policy describes the current implementation.
